Transport M.T.L. est une activité essentielle pour maintenir le commerce en mouvement et livrer des marchandises essentielles pendant la crise COVID-19. Nous livrons toujours en vertu des restrictions relatives à l'état d'urgence et aux abris sur place émises au Canada. Face aux défis posés par la pandémie mondiale actuelle de COVID-19, Transport M.T.L. s'efforce de maintenir un service de livraison fiable pour vous et vos clients. Afin d'assurer la continuité opérationnelle et un service de haute qualité, à compter du 20 avril 2020, nous prélèverons temporairement et jusqu'à nouvel ordre un supplément de protection d'urgence de 5,00 $ pour toutes les expéditions. Ce supplément de protection d'urgence nous permettra de couvrir une partie des augmentations des coûts d'exploitation de l'équipement de protection et des fournitures pour nos chauffeurs et travailleurs pendant la période de cette situation d'urgence.

M.T.L. Transport is an essential business keeping commerce moving and delivering critical goods during the COVID-19 crisis. We are still delivering under state-of-emergency and shelter-in-place restrictions issued in Canada. In the face of the challenges posed by the current global COVID-19 pandemic, M.T.L. Transport is working to maintain a reliable delivery service for you and your customers. In order to ensure operational continuity and high-quality service, effective April 20th 2020 we will temporarily and until further notice levy an Emergency Protection Surcharge of $5.00 to all shipments. This Emergency Protection Surcharge will allow us to cover part of the operating cost increases for protective equipment and supplies for our drivers and workers during the time of this emergency situation.

With the recent announcements of non-essential businesses being ordered to close in the Province of Quebec and Ontario, we would like to reassure you that M.T.L. Transport is considered an essential service under law. This means that we will continue as always to keep the food, medicine, health products and essential products moving in the national supply chain, and make sure your goods get distributed to all your suppliers and retailers, wherever they are. We will ask that you confirm with your suppliers and clients that they are not affected by the shutdown of non-essential businesses prior to requesting services in order to avoid unnecessary missed pickup, storage or redelivery fees should they be closed.

You can be assured that we are open and that we are working. You can have confidence that we will work with you to get the critical supplies that you need to you, and your products are delivered to the people that need it. We must all work together to not break the supply chain that keeps our nation supplied during this time, and you can count on us to be there.

To Our Valued Customers,

As a result of COVID-19, many retailers are reducing their hours or closing their doors to follow the Quebec Government announcement.

We ask that our shippers please confirm, prior to shipping, that the consignee is open and able to accept delivery. In the event the business has reduced their hours, please note their new hours on the Bill of Lading.

If we are in possession of a shipment that is unable to be delivered, we will be returning the freight to the shipper at the expense of the original billing account or charging daily storage rates to the original billing account until the consignee re-opens.

This effort will enable us to support the flow of essential goods to the businesses and people that need it most. We thank you in advance for your support.

As a valued client, we are writing to you today regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Like everyone else, M.T.L. Transport and its employees are watching the global Coronavirus situation unfold and the effects here in Canada. Without doubt, there is enormous concern and questions about how this may continue, and how this may affect your transportation services.
As a family-owned company, we care about the well-being and health of our clients, employees, loved ones, friends and colleagues, just like you. This is why M.T.L. Transport is ensuring that the safety of our drivers and employees is a priority by taking steps and precautions to prevent the spread of this virus. These measures include the following:

• keep in mind and practice healthy guidelines by limiting physical interaction such as handshakes, covering when coughing
• mandatory hand washing
• keep distance and wear gloves as necessary (gloves will be available for use by drivers and dispatch areas where documents are shared)
• limit pick-ups and drop-offs for service until required - look at timelines that are conducive to service requirements
• adhere to signage posted on doors – please read before entering buildings
• responsible health management – self-quarantine if coming back from travel abroad or if feeling unwell (flu-like symptoms)

M.T.L. Transport has contingency plans to ensure that your freight moves in a timely manner. While the situation regarding the Coronavirus changes each day, we continue to operate as “business as usual” and will provide you with the solutions you expect. We will provide you with timely updates as it may relate to any impact of the Coronavirus as it relates to your freight, or any upcoming shipments you are planning. While we have not seen any disruptions due to the virus, we wish to assure you that all partners have made the appropriate plans to ensure that your freight movements continue as normal.

COVID-19 New temporary procedure

At M.T.L. Transport, the health of all our employees, our customers and the whole community is more than ever our priority. Because COVID-19 is evolving rapidly, we are taking the situation very seriously and adjusting our preventive measures and procedures accordingly.

Since Sunday evening, and until further notice, we have temporarily suspended the procedure for customer signatures, whether they are electronically or on paper. This measure is implemented to reduce the risk of contamination during deliveries. Our driver will enter the name of your consignee himself.

Also note that we have instructed our drivers to keep a sufficient distance from the people with whom they will be in contact, as suggested by the Government of Québec last March 15.
